News from the St. Raphael clinic

In January 2018, the clinic was able to buy a machine to count white blood cells. Now they are trying to take up the battle against HIV. They offer HIV tests free of charge. An HIV test costs Euro 1.25. In the clinic they also hand out condoms, one condom costs Euro 0.20.

They will continue to hand out contraceptive pills to women who do not wish to have more children. A pack of the pill for one month costs only Euro 0.40. This is also handed out free of charge.

March 2018

In March 2018, we received a donation of 50 Euro for the Health Center St. John and were able to buy diagnostic medical dipsticks to diagnose HIV, malaria, typhoid fever, and other diseases. These dipsticks help to diagnose a patient much quicker, which makes sure the patients can receive a timely treatment. Thank you very much for the kind donation!

November 2017

In November 2017, we traveled to Uganda again and visited a few projects and made a few arrangements there.

Thanks to a donation we could distribute around 100 toothbrushes to children and other residents in the village Nkokonjeru. The recipients were very happy and grateful for the gift.

Furthermore we also donated medicine to the Health Center St. John and to the Health Center St. Edwards, worth 50 Euro each. Among the donated medicine were painkillers, vitamins, folic acid, ointments as well as compresses and plasters. This donation is supporting patients who have absolutely no means to pay for medicine.

Empty vials and glass containers were collected in the softened cardboard box. When emptying the carton, you had to be careful not to hurt yourself.

A television is a draw for patients. The decoder was old and did not work properly.
So we replaced the decoder so that more patients come to the health center for treatment.
